When it comes to your child’s sleep, CONSISTENCY is KEY!

Having a good routine, and keeping things the same before every sleep situation is such an important part of teaching your child to sleep well. It sends a clear message of what is expected of them- SLEEP and only sleep! Sure your boundaries will be tested every now and again with “just 1 more book” or “my eye hurts”… but staying consistent will remind your little one that nothing has changed. It’s not playtime, it’s bedtime!

Babies and especially toddlers don’t like surprises. Consistency gives them a sense of control over the situation, and therefore they eventually learn to enjoy going to to sleep! Being inconsistent with naptime, bedtime or routines sends mixed messages to a child. This is often a big contributing factor to a child’s sleep problems!
